jake headed down the stairs into the slytherin common room, giving a few nods of hello to people he passed on his way. it was a monday morning and he was already running late for his defence against the dark arts lesson. personally he would have loved to have ditched the lesson and stayed in bed but this was actually one lesson he enjoyed. he pulled his bag up to fit more securely on his shoulder as he moved out of the common room and along the dungeon. jake ran a hand over his face as he headed up to the classroom, trying to wake himself up a bit more before he went inside. when he reached the classroom, he opened the door and headed inside, ignoring the teacher when he was told off for being late.
after a long but interesting lesson, jake walked out of the classroom and headed down to the ground floor. he had a no lessons now until after lunch, so that was three hours to fill. as he walked down the hall he saw a couple of fourth year slytherins harrassing a third year ravenclaw girl. he rolled his eyes and walked over to them, shoving them against the wall in the process. "knock it off and go run along to mummy before i make you" he threatened, pushing them in the opposite direction the girl was heading in. you could say jake had a soft spot for ravenclaw girls, seeing as his twin was one. he'd always thought the sorting hat had made the wrong decision, placing his sister in ravenclaw but then again his sister did have the ravenclaw qualities. sighing, jake pulled out his phone and checked the time as he walked down the stairs to the ground floor.
when he reached the ground level, jake walked out of the entrance doors and headed towards the forbidden forest. he knew he shouldn't be there but the hell with it, you only lived once. he would just have to try his best not to get caught. he glanced over his shoulder when he reached the edge of the forest, checking that no teachers had caught on. jake walked further into the forest until he couldn't be arsed walking anymore. moving over to a tree, he dropped his bag down next to it then sat down on the ground, leaning against it. he pulled out his wand and began to cast expulso on a couple of rocks and logs nearby, smirking slightly when they blew up.

Pushing open the dark heavy wooden doors, Penelope pushed her way into the courtyard. Knowing their wasn't going to be any people standing around, they were all in their classrooms, listening to the annoying teachers. To be honest it actually made her kinda grateful to them. They made it much easier to do exactly what she had been planning to do all day. She walked across the courtyard, her heartbeat racing, even though this is her daily routine. Before she left the safety of the old courtyard, she glanced around, making sure that their were no prying eyes. It was one thing to skip class, but it's another thing to skip class and go wandering around inside the forbidden forest. All the professors at Howarts never take too kindly to that. They all believe that that the children are completely unable to take care of themselves. They believe that they need to have a supervised adult watching their every move; but they truly are funny if they believe that Penelope is going to listen to them.
She wasn't raised to take orders, she was raised to give them. From the first second she could walk or talk she was taught to be independent, to rely on only yourself, which could be why she happens to be such a bitch sometimes. It's not that she wakes up deciding to yell at everyone, it just happens. Especially to all the younger years who come up to her and ask her things about the school or where potions class is located at. Sometimes she really just snaps at people not even thinking about the consequences, of which she really doesn't care about. Running across the grounds, she slipped into the cover of the trees without looking back. She hadn't stopped running though, instead the girl just kept following her well beaten path towards the clearing that she had come to call her own. Once she broke through the line of trees, the immediate heat of the sun hit her like a bag of bricks. She stripped off her completely hideous school cape, thathad been a requirement, and dropped it on the ground at her feet.
Sunddenly a smile lit up her face, to her their was nothing better than spending her time in the company of the abandoned woods. Their were no people, just creatures who were deemed too terrible and monstrous for the brave and powerful wizards. She bean to hum, a little time that her mother had taught her. It was something that she had always done, sort of a comfort thing. She isnt the most social person out there, probably because no one really likes her, except for the animals. She doesn't come here to hang out in the meadow all by herself. She let out a soft but flowing whistle, she could hear the tune carry into the woods. In a matter of minutes she saw a blinding flash of gold, the pelt of a baby unicorn. Her smile instantly lit up, about as bright as the animals coat. The horned animal instantly bounded over to her, letting out a sleight neigh. He had recognized her, just as she had recognized him. With all the times they had spent together, he had given him a name, thunder. They had grown in each other, pulling out the apple, she held it out to him, and he instantly ate it, not leaving behind a crumb.
