Katerina rubbed her tired eyes as she moved down the empty, quiet hallway toward the library. She shouldn't have stayed up reading that book but she just couldn't put it down, the plot was getting too intense to just stop and go to sleep. Now she was paying for it fully. Kat grumbled under her breath and ran a hand through her blonde hair before pushing open one of the large wooden doors that led to the library. ]
As she stepped inside she couldn't help but take a sharp intake of breath as she looked around the library. Although she has seen this place a million times before it always seemed to put her into a constant state of awe whenever she enters it. Kat shook her head and kept moving forward as the wooden door slowly and quietly glided back to its closed position.
The next ten minutes was spent wandering the section that focused on magical creatures. She needed a book because in a few days a test was coming up and Katerina was always one to study even if she ended up studying the whole night before. The blonde ran her fingers along the spines of the books until one caught her eye. The book was an emerald green color with gold lettering. Kat pulled the book out and flipped through a few of the pages.
A smile graced her face as she deemed the book as good studying material. Holding the book to her chest she moved to one of the empty tables and sat down. Kat opened the book and picked the right chapter from the table of contents then turned to the page listed. She then propped her head on her elbow as she began to read and memorize all that she thought was important.

 claire clutched her book to her chest as she slowly made her way down the hall. the girl chewed her lip gently and tucked a few pieces of hair behind her ear as she moved through the corridor and toward he library. her petite hand reached out and gripped onto the gold knob as she reached her destination. the large doors took a bit of effort to push open but once she was inside she relaxed and let out a large breath. this was her home in this school. you could find her in here almost everyday. especially when there was a test the following day.
she sighed softly and glanced around. it was a bit packed and a small frown tugged at the corners of her mouth.the blond quickly moved to a table that sat only one girl and placed her book on it before taking a seat. she then shifted her bag that hung to her side and laid that on the table before pulling out a quill some parchment and some ink. she the unrolled the parchment and scribbled her name and the date on it before glancing over at the girl and chewing her lip. "hope you don't mind me ... intruding..." she then glanced around and back to the girl. "it's just a little busy in here today." her voice was quite and a little timid. she then looked back at her book and opened it. at the top of the page just under where she wrote her name the girl quickly scribbled hungarian horntail down and her eyes began shifting from side to side as she read about the beast. she had completely forgotten about her everyone by then as she flipped through the pages and scribbled stuff here and there.
when she finally realized she was with company when something hit the back of her head. she jumped at first and then her head looked behind her and she frowned at a group of slytherin boys laughing and whispering as they pointed at her. she sighed softly and her eyes fell to the floor before she turned back into her seat and looked at her book.

Halfway through her studying Kat had begun to write things down and as she did so she began to notice that the library was filling up rather quickly. Glancing up from her work she looked around the large, stone room and frowned a little as the tables around her went from empty to full in a matter of seconds. She shook her head and sighed softly before returning to her book.
Just a few short minutes after she heard someone sit across from her then place their bag on the table before getting their things out. Kat lifted her head to see a blonde girl. The girl looked a little familiar but she could not recall her name. The girl began to speak and Kat listened as a soft smile unfurled onto her face. She shook her head. "You're not intruding at all, no worries. The company will be nice." She replied before getting back to her work.
Minutes passed by as Kat kept herself focused on her work. It wasn't long though when she heard a noise come from her companion sitting opposite of her. She lifted her head and saw that a group of Slytherins were messing with her. A frown graced Kat's features and she shot a glare at the boys. "Why don't you nasty slugs go off somewhere, huh?" She called out to them as her frown deepened. She hated bullies. Especially Slytherin bullies.

claire nodded slowly at the girls response before getting right down to business. she never really talked much to people she didn't know. she was very shy. she chewed her lip as she wrote more down on her parchment. another tick of hers. when ever she was concentrating hard on something she tended to chew her lip raw. she ran her hand through her hair as she stared at the book a little confused about something she was reading but shook her head and moved on. she wasn't going to spend to much time on it when it was a small detail probably overlooked by the rest of her classmates.
the girl was suddenly interrupted by a group of boys and her concentration had been destroyed. when the girl yelled at the group she frowned and shook her head looking at the girl. "you didn't have to do that." she whispered softly with a shrug. "won't stop them anyway." she said a small sigh escaping her lips as she looked at her book again. she slowly closed it and shoved it back into her bag. she no long felt comfortable here. she chewed her lip again and glanced back at the boys and shook her head as she looked at the table and then to the girl. "but thanks."

Kat shrugged and smiled lightly when the girl thanked her but told her that her efforts were useless. "You never know, they really aren't all that tough." She replied to her quietly then chuckled. She really wasn't scared of the group. In fact, she couldn't recall being scared of any Slytherin since the day she got here. There really wasn't much too them. Just a bunch of stuck up, arrogant, bullies. Nothing she couldn't handle if her temper decided to flare up a bit.
The blond glanced over at the group of boys before returning her gaze to the girl in front of her. She could tell that the stranger didn't feel comfortable and this made her feel bad. She hadn't meant to ruin the girl's day or anything. She just wanted to help. Although Kat felt discouraged she still put a smile on her face as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm Kat by the way." She spoke softly.

the blond looked up and over at the boys again and shrugged her shoulders. "No i guess they aren't. . . i'm just not one for confrontation." she said biting her lip gently and run her fingers through her curls before shifting in her seat and nervously pulling at her sweater that covered her school uniform. she the looked at the girl and smiled a bit more when her name was given. "I'm Claire." She said softly with a small smile. she then shifted her eyes to the book Kat was reading and tilted her head. "you have a C.O.M test too?" she asked looking at the girl.
she then realized that that's probably why the other girl looked so familiar. they were probably both in a few of the same classes together. "Sixth year?" she asked looking over at Kat again with a small smile. she then set her bag to her side and looked around. he eyes quickly scanned over a girl who had decided to place herself right next to claire and a small frown played on her lips. "it's getting a bit crowded in here. .. wanna head out into the courtyard or something?" she asked standing up not waiting for a response from the other girl before fixing her skirt and heading out of the door. she glanced back to see if the girl was following her. She wasn't going to stop either way though. It didn't matter to her if she followed her not claire just wanted to remove herself from so many people.
The blond quickly made it down the corridors and down the stairs with a stealth to her. with the halls not being that crowded it was no task to avoid the occasional person. but even when the hall was full of people claire found it easy to duck and dodge people. It was a given gift of hers. it was no wonder her animagni was a fox. she finally got to the court yard and smiles softly when very few people were there. "much better" she whispered as she sat down on a bench and pulled out her book.

Kat nodded as the girl across from her explained that she wasn't one for confrontation. That was totally understandable. Plus she could not picture the blonde across from her fighting anyone now that she thought about it. The blonde grinned as the girl across the table introduced herself as Claire. She liked the name 'Claire'. It was pretty and it seemed to be a perfect match for the petite, blue eyed blonde across from her. "It is nice to meet you Claire." She spoke kindly before glancing at her book once more.
There was a short pause before Claire asked if she had a test coming up. Kat looked over at her and nodded. "Yes! You too?" She replied with a soft smile. If she did too maybe they could study together? Claire then asked her if she was a sixth year. Kat nodded and ran a hand through her hair. The room around them was getting even more crowded and she was starting to find it a bit difficult to focus. As she let out a sigh she noticed that Claire was getting up and asking if she wanted to move to the court yard.
Katerina opened her mouth to respond but Claire was already heading to the doors. She shook her head and quickly gathered her stuff. With her stuff bundled in her arms she hurried after Claire as she wound through the corridors and eventually came to a stop in the courtyard. Kat sat next to Claire and reopened her book. "Not a fan of crowds, huh?" She asked.

claire smiles softly and nodded at kat after the girl had spoken. "you too." she said softly as she shifted in her seat a little. her blue eyes fell back on the girl for a second scanning her for a moment trying to put her face in one of her classes. she sighed and shook her head when she couldn't and ran a hand through her hair. she then looked back down at her book before asking the next question. she jumped slightly at the outburst from the other girl but nodded her head. "Yeah. .. same here. . . along with a few others." she said rolling her eyes a bit.
as she spoke more to the girl the more crowded the library got. she was starting to feel anxiety. she took a deep breath trying to calm herself but it was beginning to be too much for her and before she even knew it she was up and asking kat if she would like to join her in the courtyard before taking off toward the door and down the steps.
finally reaching her destination claire sat down and took a look around before puling out her book. her eyes glanced over when hat had sat next to her and she shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. "No not the biggest fan." she said biting her lip. "they make me very nervous." she said with a shrug. "So what are you studying?" she asked softly before glancing at the girls book. "If you like we can help each other?" she said with a small tilt of the head. though that made her laugh a little in her head. asking someone with help to study, when she was clearly fine being on her own. but that would have been rude just to ignore the girl so she asked anyway.

After chasing after Claire, Kat had deposited herself in a spot next to her before getting her things out again. Just after she sat down she had asked Claire about the crowds. Claire told her that they made her nervous. Katerina nodded in her understanding. She could see why the poor girl got nervous around crowds. A crowd of people is a lot, obviously.
"That makes sense, I don't blame you." She said with a reassuring smile. Kat then brought her attention back to her book and she got to read a few lines before Claire asked a question of her own. She offered to study with her. Katerina grinned and lifted her head so she was looking over at Claire again. "That would be great if you really are ok with it. I mean, we don't have to study together if you don't want to." She replied.

claire shrugged her shoulders and nodded her head. "I guess." she said with a small sigh. she had never been a very social girl always buried in a book instead of out with friends. it became even worse when her father left her family. he was the one person she trusted the most and he vanished without a word. they got a letter months later saying he was alright just need to make a new life. so that's when claire became even more reserved, not letting anyone really get close to her. she guessed that wasn't really an excuse for being afraid of crowds but crowds where really a bunch of people and more heartbreak.
she then looked at her and spoke again trying not to let this get awkward. she felt the need to break free from her handicap and make friends. she smiled softly and shrugged her shoulders. "Sure. I'd be nice to have someone bounce things off of." She said looking at her book and then the girls. "what should we start with?" she asked shifting a bit and smiling. the girls eyes scanned the courtyard again and smiles softly when it was still quiet. her blue eyes looked up toward the sky before looking back at kat and awaited her answer.
